The little crab has collected all sorts of things he feels may be of importance to him and is prepared to defend his right to keep them. This painting is constructed with basically 2 colors, burnt sienna and cobalt blue on a wet paper to create the sand like background. The other objects were masked over and dried before the background was applied. The masking was removed and the details added to the crab and shells.
