Acrylic Painting

While watching one of Hugh Greer's DVDs, I decided I would try my hand at some acrylic paintings.  This was also inspired by a terrific deal I found at Blick Art Supplies where I bought some 35 primed canvases for unbelievable prices.  In the painting, "Afternoon", I was trying to convey a late afternoon winter scene where the sun is hanging low in the sky, just above the horizon, throwing a wonderful parting light over the world.  Of course, the sunlight is not striking everything, so there are many shadows in the painting.  I tried to make the snow glow with the reflected light even when in shadow.  Take a look and let me know what you think!
